*To attend Vitality Yoga Classes, students need to complete a Yoga Basics Course depending on prior yoga experience.

Yoga Basics

Have you ever wanted to do yoga but don’t feel confident about attending a class?

Here’s your chance to start at the very beginning. Yoga Basics courses are run in conjunction with school terms. These courses will take you step by step through the basics ensuring all students have a solid foundation in yoga.
The practice of yoga increases strength and flexibility as well as bringing a sense of calm, balance and vitality to your life.

NOW IS THE TIME TO START!

This is an nine week course designed to give students a solid foundation in the practice of yoga. It is a must for beginners and is a prerequisite to attending the Vitality Yoga Classes offered at the Centre.

What Yoga Basics Covers:

  • Yoga postures (asanas)
  • Correct Breathing
  • Alignment of the Spine
  • Correct Carriage of Head and Neck
  • The Body as a Whole
  • Energy Flow
  • Sequencing Movement
  • Balance
  • Concentration
  • Relaxation /Meditation
  • Ethical Disciplines and Personal Observances from the Yoga Sutras

Cost of the Course is $150 which includes a yoga workbook and is payable on commencement. Bookings are Essential as courses fill quickly.

Yoga Vitality

Although the Yoga Vitality classes have a set format, they are not run as courses but on a casual on-going basis and are available to all students who have completed the Yoga Basics course or have a solid foundation in yoga. Students are also able to attend as many classes per week as they wish. Cost of Yoga Vitality classes is $15. A discount will be offered for those wishing to pay for a 10 session block ($120) . Payments in advance will not be refunded if a student discontinues classes but credit will be held for future classes.

Heart  Yoga

These on-going weekly classes, are designed for those who wish to do a gentler, passive form of yoga and are ideally suited to older members of the community or anyone who feels they have limited flexibility or stiffness in specific areas of the body. The classes cater for the individual and their special needs.
There is no pre-requisite for joining these classes but if you are unsure of the type of exercise you should be doing because of illness, injury or disability, please check with your preferred health practitioner before attending class. Cost of this class is $15.


Yoga for Healing

This is a weekly session to promote healing and is by donation only. This session is open to all those who suffer chronic debilitating illnesses, including stress-related disorders or anyone who feels they need to heal and regain well being. These sessions consist predominantly of relaxation and meditation with very gentle stretching and breathing exercises. By donation

One on one Healing (with Gerry)

Do you feel the need to create some balance in your life - to make positive changes towards wholeness towards bringing the mind, body and spirit into harmony?  Learn to develop a deeper awareness of self and share and explore your journey in a supportive and caring relationship
. These sessions are a combination of  communication, healing and yoga practices to assist in times of transition - moving through the challenges in our life’s journey with awareness and understanding. (By appointment)
